The Kids are Baking Thanksgiving Dessert with this Mini Pie Bite Recipe

C’mon over for some more recipe yum at www.jodiefitz.com

Here is there recipe that Emmy & I made:

Mini Pie Bites by Jodie Fitz

Price Chopper pre-made piecrust
2/3 cup mini chocolate morsels
3 tablespoons Price Chopper sugar
¾ teaspoon Price Chopper Cinnamon
1 Price Chopper egg, large
Craft sticks
Holiday Cookie Cutters

Roll the piecrust onto a clean, lightly floured surface. Use holiday cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the piecrust. Note: You can roll together the excess dough, flatten it with a roller & continue to cut the shapes until all of the dough is used.

Stir together the chocolate morsels, 1 ½ tablespoons sugar & cinnamon.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place one dough shape onto the baking sheet. Place a craft stick into one end. Fill the center with some of the chocolate filling; the amount needed will depend on the size of your shaped cutout, but approximately 2 – 3 tablespoons. Place another dough shape on top. Use a fork to seal the edges, especially around the area where you have added the craft stick so that it stays in place once you are done baking.

Whip the egg in a small bowl with a mini whisk or fork. Brush the top of the mini pie shapes & sprinkle with a light layer of the remaining sugar.

Bake the mine pie bites until the piecrust is golden brown for approximately 10 – 20 minutes; again the time will depend on the shapes & sizes used.

Let them cool completely before serving.

Craft Sticks: These can be found in the school supply aisle at Price Chopper Supermarkets.
