Video Cooking Demonstration and recipe for Chinese Honey Chicken. Kids love this, it’s a very popular dish which features on most Chinese Restaurant menus. Here we show you an incredibly easy and quick version that is bound to become one of your families favourites too. Very few ingredients, most of which are found in most pantries. An economical dish perfect for cooking at home. We hope you give it a try.
400 grams chicken fillet pieces
1 chicken stock cube
250 grams water
40 grams potato flour
20 grams cornflour
30 grams honey
5 grams sesame seeds
oil for frying.
Mix the flours with the egg. Add the chicken pieces and massage into the batter. Leave for 10 minutes. Heat the oil. add chicken pieces to oil in batched being careful not to over crown the pan. When the the chicken has cooked about 4-6 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside in a warm place. m
For the sauce, add water, stock cube and honey to a wok and heat until boiling mix about 1/2 -1 teaspoon of potato flour to a littler water and add to sauce stirring constantly until thickened. pour over chicken, sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onions make a pretty garnish too. Serve with rice fried or steamed.
